FRAMING PROGRAMME
The framing programme of the festival is composed of presentations and discussions aswell as video-specials (e.g. music- or animation-specials), which are shown off the competitions.
Every year we furthermore welcome a guest-festival, which presents itself with an info desk and shows own videos from its festival-programme at the Videobrunch - a public breakfast on the third festivalday.

PRESENTATIONS
// Jan Küger, Georg Pelzer, Michael Houben
// Th 26.05. // 19:30h // Seminarraum Uni Bibliothek
Since last years september activists of the Rhizom network from Bonn have been transforming the cities house fronts into screens and projecting short films onto them on a non regular basis. In our presentation with subsequent discussion, the activists intention will be to illustrate the impact of film art on public spaces and the experiences in realising »reclaim the streets« projects. Rhizom is a non-commercial (cultural-) network from Bonn. More informations at www.rhizom-bonn.de
Hawa Essuman
//
Fr 27.05. // 19:00h // Seminarraum Uni Bibliothek
The Kenyan film maker Hawa Essuman gives insights into her artistic works. Our v.i.p. guest from Nairobi produced the movie »SOULBOY« in cooperation with Tom Tykwer in 2010. The film, mainly shot in the slum Kibera, was also shown in German cinema. We are delighted to give you the opportunity to speak to Hawa Essuman!

The presentation aims at raising issues on a landscape of ethics regarding fixity of ephemerality through object creation to serve as testimony of A/V realtime art practices. It takes as basis the fundamental elements, the performative moment and its audience and then moves towards the construction of memory within the related communities.
