Parallel zum Internationalen Wettbewerb findet der Bochumer Wettbewerb statt. Lokale Künstler oder Künstler mit Bezug zu Bochum finden hier eine Plattform, um ihre Arbeiten zu präsentieren. Das Bochumer Programm läuft am Donnerstagabend im großen Saal.
